Is Nintendo Finally Doing an Achievement System for their Next-Gen Console?

Long are the days that Nintendo is finally about to play catch up with both Sony and Microsoft when it comes down to earning achievements for fulfilling special game requests and making players' dreams come true. However, it’s best to say that if the latest implementation of an achievement system is indeed getting things ready for their highly anticipated next-gen console, then, as the saying goes, it’s better late than never. Nintendo first began to introduce the achievement system on the Wii U, but it was so well hidden that hardly anyone knew how to access it effectively. Later, with the launch of the Switch, Nintendo seemed to gain more confidence, allowing them to incorporate the reward system into their earlier games, like Animal Crossing, as a sort of learning curve that encouraged players through various tasks. With Mario Party: Jamboree being the most recent game to embrace this robust reward system, it appears that Nintendo is ready to go all-in on an achievement system that acknowledges and rewards gamers for completing special and often challenging tasks within their beloved gaming universe.

Here is a video showing how Mario Party: Jamboree shows off an achievement like system running:

The video suggests this could be a test for Nintendo gamers seeking exclusives. I think it's possible, but it may never come to fruition. Nintendo often prioritizes gameplay and mechanics over fan requests for more exclusive content. Still, I'm excited for this to happen. Additionally, after achieving certain milestones in Jamboree, there's a leveling system that offers rewards for special features in the game.

Having a well-structured reward system truly enhances the overall experience of Mario Party, making it not only enjoyable but also engaging, which ultimately contributes to its success. This approach benefits Mario Party itself and positively impacts other first-party Nintendo exclusives that spark a desire in gamers to fully immerse themselves and complete the game.
